A durable and lightweight survival bag which offers protection from the elements in the event of an accident, trauma or exposed situation. It is large enough to accommodate 2 people and can also be used to signal for attention.
We used them for a Sleep Out in December both this year (2015) and last year. Last year they really helped keep the frost of. This year, they helped combat the effect of wind from storm Desmond! Worked well.

Had to use one of these recently when a particularly wet and cold camping trip went a bit haphazard. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some moisture collects inside which can leave your sleeping bag a little damp, especially near the feet area, but it really does make a difference - especially at night. Would definitely recommend carrying one on all hiking or camping trips.

They do a simple but essential job well. I've used the bags a couple of times 'in anger' and they performed well. They keep the occupant protected and sheltered from wind+rain, which can be essential to avoid hypothermia in a difficult situation. I've also used one as a quasi-bivvy bag - it was OK, a bit of moisture gathered inside as you'd expect, but did the job. I also carry one as part of my MRT personal kit.
Everyone on the hills should find space inside their rucsac for one of these. You'll be glad you have it when the going gets rough.
